We offer auctions in various formats to accommodate different bidding styles and schedules. Most of our auctions are live online events where you can bid in real-time from anywhere in the world.
For added convenience, we also regularly host online-only auctions and timed-online auctions, allowing you to place bids at your own pace within a set timeframe. Each format provides the same quality selection and professional service, giving you the flexibility to participate in the way that works best for you.

Adrenaline levels can indeed rise considerably, but in reality, bidding and buying at an auction is fortunately not as intimidating as it may seem. We like to make sure that everyone feels at home at our auctions, from beginners to experienced buyers and from individuals to renowned international dealers. Bidding and buying at our auctions is easy and can be done in a way you feel comfortable with, either live in our auction room or online in the comfort of your own environment.
Prior to the auction
1. Create an account
Register here on our auction platform. As soon as your account has been validated, you can start bidding. If you are interested in specific objects, you can set up a search alert. You will always be the first to know about new offers.
2. View and search our online catalogue
About 4-5 weeks prior to an auction, we announce the exact auction dates, times and sequence. We publish the auction objects on our website in the form of an ‘online catalogue’. Here you will find the objects’ lot numbers, descriptions, photos, estimated yields, starting amounts and bidding status. View objects by category or use the search function to search specifically by brand, material, product type, etc. You can also save objects as favourites and keep a list of them. Set up a notification with the “lot alerts” function. You will then receive automatic notifications by SMS and e-mail when your favourite lot is about to be auctioned. Would you like additional information about a lot? Then visit our viewing days or request a condition report by e-mail.
3. Visit our viewing days
We organise viewing days a few days prior to the auction. You are then welcome to come and view the objects being auctioned in our showroom in Klaaswaal. We like to keep these viewing days low-threshold: the atmosphere is friendly and there is no need to make an appointment. Our experts will personally answer all your questions about the objects but also about bidding and buying at the auction. Dates and times of the viewing days are listed in the auction information of the relevant auction.
4. Place a bid in the prebid
If you have an account and are logged in, you can place a bid for a lot in our online catalogue at the click of a button. Enter the amount and type of bid and confirm your bid. An autobid allows you to enter the maximum amount you want to bid. This bid is saved and the system automatically bids for you until your maximum is reached. During the so-called ‘prebid’ period, you can bid from the moment a lot is published online until the moment the lot goes under the hammer in the live auction. From then on, you can only bid live. Besides online bidding, you can also fill in a written bid form and send it to us by e-mail or post.
During the auction
1. Physical co-bidding in the hall
You are welcome to bid live in our auction room in Klaaswaal; this is great fun and very easy. Upon entering the auction hall, report to the auction desk and receive a bidding number. Take a seat in the auction room and hold up your bidding number if you want to bid on a lot. The auctioneer supervises the bidding process and has bidders compete against each other via fixed bidding steps. Finally, the highest bid is hammered out with the familiar “once, twice…sold!”. Our advice for beginners: come on time and quietly observe how live bidding works first. If necessary, we will help you on the spot.
2. Internet bidding
If you do not have the opportunity to bid physically in the hall, you can very easily bid live via the internet. Make sure you have created an account well before the auction starts and that you are logged in during the live auction. On our auction website, you will see a live stream of the auction room, the lot information of the object currently being auctioned, the bidding status and a bid button. Please note: during the pre-bid period prior to the auction, you will be notified if you are outbid, but not during the live auction! Online bidding is possible via your mobile phone and laptop/computer. As bidding during the live auction can be very fast, a good internet connection is required.
3. Bidding by telephone
During our live (online) auctions, you can also bid over the phone. We will reserve a telephone line for you and call you as soon as the lot in question is up for auction. You will then bid live via an auction employee. To register for telephone bidding, please send an e-mail with the lot number and your contact details. We only have a limited number of telephone lines available so please register in time, no later than 24 hours prior to the live auction.
After the auction
1. Pay your bill
Congratulations, you are the highest bidder and have secured one or more lot(s)! After the auction, you will receive an e-mail from us containing a link to the customer portal. Here you can easily pay your invoice and download it as a pdf file.
2. Choose pick-up or delivery
In the customer portal, you also select your preferred pick-up or shipping method. Pick up your purchase free of charge at one of our more than 150 locations or choose home delivery. Detailed information on our pick-up and delivery options can be found here.
3. Aftersale
Unsold lots can still be purchased in the aftersale up to 1 week after the end of the auction for the starting price plus premium. If you click on “buy directly”, the lot will be allocated to you immediately. You will then receive an e-mail with a link to the customer portal to make payment and select a collection or shipping method.
